5-Day Emaho Yoga Release & Renew Retreat

Time & Location

25 Oct, 15:00 – 29 Oct, 14:00

Durbuy, Petite Somme 5, 6940 Durbuy, Belgique

About The Event

Located in the Chateau de Petite Somme, surrounded by unspoiled flora and fauna and long stretches of forest and countryside, this is a wondrous place to accomplish one’s spiritual practice (Sadhana).

We fell in love with Radhadesh during our first visit and we knew right away that we wanted to share this place with our retreatants. The castle, the energy and community, the food, and even the cows that are living a peaceful life on the campus create a joyful and peaceful atmosphere that is as unique as it is rejuvenating.

Join us for mindful walks in the forest, intensive Vinyasa Flow Yoga and meditation sessions in the morning and Yin & Restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra and Soundbath in the evening. There will also be Kirtan (sacred chanting) every evening, as is customary in the castle, and you will learn more about Bhakti Yoga, or the Yoga of devotion.

About Emaho Yoga:

Emaho is a Tibetan word that means wonderful, amazing, or miraculous. Founded by Jennifer and Ben Beirs in 2018, Emaho Retreats are grounded in the principle that the ordinariness of everyday life is extraordinary, and that through the practices and foundations offered at their retreats, students can become more in tune with the timeless wisdom and goodness that is waiting to be uncovered and recovered within all of us.

May it be of benefit!

About your teachers:

Ben Beirs is an American musician and yoga teacher who has been living in Europe since 2013. Although Ben is a professionally-trained classical guitarist who still teaches and performs, he has always made time to meet, learn from, and practice with many yoga and meditation teachers over the years. He took his first Yoga class as a teenager and later met his mentor and spiritual guide, Lama Surya Das, with whom he has completed numerous silent, intensive meditation retreats. Ben completed his first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in July 2014 at the Asheville Yoga Center. He began teaching yoga in Paris in 2015 and taught hundreds of yoga classes in numerous studios in Paris. Wishing to deepen his practice and teaching skills, he completed a 300-hour Jivamukti teacher training in May of 2016. After meeting his future wife, Jennifer, in Paris, they moved to Berlin in 2018, and shortly after he completed a 500-hour mentorship at Jivamukti Yoga Berlin. Ben continues to teach and learn and is currently enrolled in a rigorous teacher training at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of Berlin. Ben brings a candid, joyful, yet clear approach to teaching, and through the influence of mentors both musical and spiritual, encourages others to integrate yoga, meditation, and creativity into their daily lives, for the benefit of one and all. He lives with his wife Jennifer and their two cats in Berlin, where he teaches guitar and yoga.

About Ben's Yoga classes:

Ben offers accessible, uplifting classes, emphasising understanding and clarity for healthy movement, mindfulness, and deep relaxation. Ben is an experienced teacher, both in yoga and music, and provides clear, precise and lighthearted instruction for students of all backgrounds and experiences. Yoga does not mean you have to do acrobatics or be extremely flexible. Yoga is a path of transformation, a journey “of the Self, by the Self, to the Self.” His classes will be held in English, but he also speaks fluently French and German.

Jennifer Beirs, born and raised in Berlin, decided to leave the corporate world in 2012. Since then she traveled the world and discovered yoga in 2015 in Paris, where she lived for 6 years. She fell in love with the Jivamukti Yoga method and has been practicing it ever since. Being a vegan, she admired the deep connection to animal rights and environmental activism that Sharon Gannon and David Life advocate as their core principles. She continues to study vegan nutrition and is passionate about coaching others how to live a healthy and balanced, plant-based life. She completed her 200-hour RYT at the Asheville Yoga Center, where she discovered Yin & Restorative Yoga. She moved back to Berlin and has been teaching weekly Yin Yoga classes and workshops ever since. In Berlin she is practicing She studied Aromatherapy and the benefits of therapeutic-quality essential oils and enjoys sharing these benefits in her own life and in her classes. Since Bhakti Yoga is a big part of her personal practice, she includes chanting and music in all her classes.

About Jennifer's Yoga classes:

Jennifer offers calming and relaxing classes, infused with healing sounds and aroma therapy. Mindful breath and movement is encouraged to balance the nervous system and come back to a healthy state, leaving the classroom feeling centered and happy. Her classes are held in English and are open to all levels. She also speaks fluently German and French.
